Georgia is one of NKU's NP application states, so the FNP, AGACNP and PMHNP concentrations and certificates are open to you, along with the other MSN tracks. Two rows need care: NKU's copies disagree about the post-master's DNP, and the online RN-to-BSN is not authorized in Georgia.

Georgia has been on the NP admission list since its eight-state days. The two wrinkles below concern the DNP and the RN-to-BSN, not the NP tracks.
NKU's graduate-admissions table now lists Georgia as authorized for the post-master's DNP. The older online-program copy still says the opposite, and every archived graduate copy through May 11, 2026 did too, so the change is recent. Before you apply, get the answer from NKU in writing; the state authorization page tracks every conflict.
The RN-to-BSN is simpler: both copies place Georgia in the not-authorized column. Georgia nurses who already hold a BSN still have the NP concentrations and the Nursing Education and Nurse Executive Leadership tracks open. Anyone planning a move for the RN-to-BSN should confirm the new state's row before enrolling.
Georgia's Board steps back from post-licensure education altogether, APRN programs among them, which means NKU files nothing with it before you train here. Georgia's lever is the license. When a Georgia resident completes clinical hours in-state for a school elsewhere, that student needs Georgia licensure or compact multistate privileges from another member state, and the same test applies to anyone teaching or precepting the student, on site or remotely.

AANP rates Georgia restricted. A Georgia NP works under physician delegation or supervision, with Schedule II prescribing held to narrow limits. Separately, the Board wants post-licensure APRN students taught clinically by a nurse who holds Georgia APRN authorization, which in practice means an NP preceptor needs it. If your planned preceptor is a physician or PA, ask your concentration coordinator how NKU reads the Board's statement before you file.
PTIP, Georgia's preceptor tax incentive, is reserved for students of Georgia-based programs. NKU thanks its own preceptors with a professional development provision and hour letters.
Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell dwarfs the rest, and Emory Healthcare, Piedmont, Grady, Northside and Wellstar all run hospitals in the region. Savannah, Augusta and Columbus round out the larger metros. Two of those cross state lines: Augusta's metro reaches into South Carolina, which NKU's table lists in both columns, and Columbus shares its metro with Alabama, which NKU does not authorize. Keep preceptors on the Georgia side.

Not while you live in Georgia. Both copies of NKU's state table list Georgia as not authorized for the RN-to-BSN, and NKU warns that students in restricted states may be unable to complete field placements. NKU's MSN and NP programs are open in Georgia, but they expect a BSN first.
It depends which NKU page you read. The current graduate-admissions table says yes; the online-program table says no, and so did archived graduate copies up to May 11, 2026. Because the change is new, confirm with NKU admissions and keep that written answer before you enroll or plan a DNP 881 to 884 project site.
No. By its own account, Georgia's Board leaves post-licensure education, NP programs included, outside its approval work. The state's checks run through licenses: you, your faculty and your preceptor must be licensed in Georgia or hold compact multistate privileges, and NP clinical teaching belongs to a nurse with Georgia APRN authorization.
No. PTIP rewards preceptors who train students of Georgia's own medical, dental, NP and PA schools, and NKU is based in Kentucky. NKU pays its preceptors a professional development provision after the term and sends ANCC or AANPCP hour letters on request.
